Before we even started designing the renovation of our clients’ double-fronted Edwardian, we set out to understand the nuances of their everyday life – both now and in the future.

Their brief? An additional living space, bedroom, bathroom, music room and wine cellar; all needed to remain within the existing building footprint so they didn’t lose any of their beloved garden. Equally important was that the renovation created space for the family to gather together but also to do their own thing when required.

Only the front four rooms were retained making space for a new laundry, bathroom and kitchen and living with nods to mid-century modern architecture, particularly in the new grown-up family room with one of our signature built-in lounges and a palette of warm, earthy tones reminiscent of the 1960s.
